Joseph Rafferty is a healthcare executive with nearly twenty years of industry leadership and strategic development experience working for both for-profit and non-profit health systems throughout the United States. In his current position as Regional Vice President of Ambulatory Services and Government Affairs for Crozer Health, he reports directly to the CEO and leads the development of the ambulatory footprint throughout the CKHS Pennsylvania region and government advocacy efforts. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Joe was instrumental in capturing an additional $13M in funding from various local, state, and federal agencies.
Recruited to Prospect Medical Holdings in 2015, Joseph has served in a variety of leadership roles with the company. Prior to his current position, he served as president of Crozer Health’s Taylor Hospital and Crozer Health’s EMS (ambulance) company. Prior to joining Taylor Hospital, he was the president and CEO of the Texas region for Prospect Medical Holdings, where he was instrumental in stabilizing their financially underperforming hospitals and set the ongoing hospital strategy for future growth.
Prior to joining Prospect Medical Holdings, Joseph was the Chief Strategy Officer for Houston Northwest Medical Center, a part of Tenet Healthcare. In this role, he was promoted into roles of increasing responsibility that included overseeing strategic planning, business development, marketing, nutrition, and rehab services for the facility.
Previous to joining Tenet Healthcare in 2013, Joseph served as the Chief Executive Officer for HealthBridge Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX. In addition to this role, Joseph created the government relations department and led the lobbying efforts in Austin for the health system. Prior to joining HealthBridge, he was the Director of Business Development for Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. Before that, he served as a Program Manager for Stanford Hospital and Clinics and began his healthcare career as a Financial Associate with Tenet Healthcare at Doctors Medical Center of Modesto.
Joseph received his MBA from Pepperdine University and his BA in Finance from Ohio University. He resides in Montgomery County, PA with his wife and three children.
